The ESRC/AHRC SHAPE Catalyst delivered by the ARC Accelerator is a first-of-its-kind programme designed to support researchers from the social sciences, arts and humanities to transform their research ideas into impactful ventures.

Join us at the University of Bath (4West 1.2) to learn more about the Catalyst’s training and funding opportunities, and how you can create impact at scale from your research. During the event, there’ll be an introductory training session exploring different routes to sustainable impact and how to identify new audiences for your research. You’ll also get the chance to hear directly from peers who have successfully turned their innovative research ideas into ventures.

Open to all researchers in the arts, humanities and social sciences, as well as TTOs and professional and support staff.

Julian Jantke

Julian is a Director of the ARC Accelerator, the world’s first accelerator for social sciences, humanities and arts commercialisation. In addition to this, he is a member of the SHAPE Impact Kollektiv, a group of international impact and commercialisation experts focused on developing the innovation potential of SHAPE research.

Before this, Julian was Research Commercialisation Manager at the University of Bristol. Julian also has extensive entrepreneurial experience and has previously run and successfully exited several innovative social enterprises and for-profit ventures.

Dr James Woodhams

James is the coordinator of the ARC Launch programme. In addition to his work at ARC, James is Commercialisation Manager in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) at the University of Exeter. He supports academics with the development and management of research and consultancy projects.

James has previously run the very successful SHAPE Pre-Accelerator Programme for ASPECT Network members. James comes from a background of theatre industry, focusing primarily on outreach work, youth engagement and artist development, and holds a PhD in Drama from the University of Exeter.
