Essential business finance

Comfortably one of the biggest pains for entrepreneurs is the need to get to grips with business numbers and the stress caused by financial jargon...

My workshop ‘Essential business finance’ is a practical and stress-free guide to help you understand business numbers and financial jargon and overcome your fear of finance. The session explains the financial elements of all the stages in your business from the way in which it is set-up, how to work with investors and managing your cash flow on a day-to-day basis. It also includes:

·         How to set up your business to make it financially viable

·         The best way to work with an accountant

·         Raising capital without getting caught out by investors

·         Managing your cash flow, suppliers and payments

·         Creating financial forecasts and projections.

You will be surrounded by like-minded entrepreneurs and bring a laptop if you wish to start work on the numbers in the workshop. The aim is to give you a good foundation in business finance theory and also a range of practical tools and methods which you can implement straight away.

As part of the workshop, you will also receive:

  • A business plan checklist
  • An Excel five year profit and loss viability model: twelve month cash flow and balance sheet "really good, very comprehensive, goes a long way quickly" Nigel Biggs, Entrepreneur in Residence, University of Surrey
  • One week post-course email support
  • A glossary of key financial terms
  • A copy of ‘Talk Money’, a highly acclaimed 90 minute dvd that explains the language of business (£18.00 rrp)
  • 50% discount voucher for online business evaluation service Tri-start.

Recent feedback on my workshops:

“I just wanted to say a huge ‘thank you’ for last night’s session at the British Library. It was unbelievably useful – I had a few real ‘eureka!’ moments. I can’t get over how satisfying it is to see the numbers finally making sense.”  Hermione Taylor
