Essential Employment Law (including Tier 4)
Wed 7 December 2016, 09:00 – 16:00 GMT
The government announced changes to the Immigration Rules on 13th July 2015. Many of these affect Tier 4 of the points-based system, these changes are already having an impact on students. In this workshop, led by employment law specialists we will be discussing how these changes affect you, your organisation and your students. There will be a number of directed case studies to give practical examples of these issues.
In addition, the workshop will provide an overview of the key employment rights that apply to students in the workplace and will seek to answer some of the most commonly asked questions that our students ask, such as:
- Am I entitled to receive a contract of employment?
- What should I be paid?
- I think I am being discriminated against – what can I do?
- I have just been sacked – what can I do?
This workshop is a must for anyone who wishes to understand how employment law works and protects students in 2016.
