Essential Musicianship for Teachers: Level 2 - London (2 day course)
Thu, 9 Mar 2017, 09:30 – Fri, 28 Apr 2017, 16:00 GMT
A more musically challenging course for experienced teachers who want to extend and develop pupils at the top of primary or lower secondary. Ideally you will have attended a Voices Foundation course in the past (Intro to Music Teaching or Essential Musicianship for Teachers Level 1), however this course is open to anyone who feels they are at the appropriate level. Please get in touch if you require any further clarification.
The focus of the course will be on the extension of musical skills and understanding and how to develop a musically meaningful approach to reading notation.
Learning, analysing and becoming creative with a wider repertoire of songs
Development of musicianship skills for the teacher
Understanding how to sequence a learning progression for secure notation reading
Consolidating and extending skills and concepts through listening material, instruments and composition
Developing teaching techniques including giving feedback, planning for a musical lesson
Sharing and discussing common issues in the music classroom
