About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

In today's fast-paced, ever-changing workplace, it is vital that Learning and Development professionals broaden their skills and mind-sets, and begin to view themselves differently in relation to their organisations. They need to see themselves as instrumental in driving change and impacting team, function and organisational strategy at all levels. This requires a fundamental shift in self-view and the courage to be bolder and far more pro-active in approach. It also demands greater agility and flexibility to link the world of professional development to business needs effectively, to embody expertise, to partner with the business and actively drive and shape the landscape of professional development more overtly; and to do this without apology. This session will highlight some of the key areas on the Profession Map that Learning and Development professionals need to attend to in order to achieve this transformational shift. We will focus on some key aspects of Core Knowledge and Core Behaviours. In particular, some of the new knowledge required for People Practice, Culture and Behaviour and Business Acumen. In relation to Core Behaviours, we will look at Professional Courage and Influence.

By attending this session participants will begin to:

• Understand the way in which they need to view themselves, going forward

• Begin to understand the key behavioural shift that is required

• Gain greater awareness of how to claim their authority and grant themselves licence to lead

• Heighten their awareness of the fundamental elements of impactful and powerful communication

• Begin to understand their own influencing preferences and a broader range of styles
