Description

Calling all runners, cyclists, triathletes and anyone who's active/ plays sports.

Learn how to improve your efficiency and performance without increasing your training load through yoga and correct breathing. An accessible & comprehensive 2.5 hour workshop which give you the understanding & tools on how you can enhance your performance & endurance, as well as reducing your risk of injury and frustration, to bring more longevity to your runs/ rides/ sports.

Scheduled for a Saturday afternoon so you can get your morning training done in the morning - You will learn some key practices to incorporate into you lifestyle that will help you remain active, improve how you move, how you perform and how you recover.

We will start the workshop with an informative session about the importance of correct breathing & run drills in - why we do them, where & when they fit into your training, and how to practice these which can have a profound effect on performance. You'll learn & practice the key breathing exercises to find more effective & efficient patterns for sports & daily life. And then work with walking/running drills that will improve how you move working on postural control & correct the neuromuscular firing patterns (how and when muscles should work) for better strength and stability. After a short break we'll move into a sequence of yoga poses & drills to strengthen, stabilise and mobilise your body. You'll identify weaknesses in the body and how to use these essential yoga exercises to strengthen these regions and help prevent you from injury. By the end of the workshop you will have a takeaway box of tools to include in your training programme to enhance your performance, endurance and longevity in your sport.

Its recommended to practice yoga on an empty stomach and leave 2 hours between eating a heavy meal and the start of class. If you are hungry before class a light snack should be fine.
