Grace D Poulter, Lecturer in Academic Writing, The Graduate School  

 

Grace D Poulter is a lecturer in Academic Writing at Glasgow Caledonian University.  She is also an accredited IELTS examiner with many years of experience in teaching EAP to postgraduate students in the Scottish HE sector.

 

 

Description

This session tackles the four most commonly used and misused punctuation devices in academic English: the comma, the semi-colon, the colon and the apostrophe.  We look at how and why these small symbols are essential in the creation of coherent and credible academic texts.  

 

Audience   

International doctoral students only
