Event description

Description

We are hosting two collaborative events in Chelmsford, as part of Essex 2020 Year of Science and Creativity. We hope will be the first of a regular series running throughout 2020 and beyond.

These cross sector events are designed to bring together people who are

i. developing, or interested in developing, activities under the broad Essex 2020 science and creativity umbrella with a focus on Chelmsford, Maldon, Brentwood & Basildon.
and
ii. willing and able to support them to put their ideas into action.

To avoid confusion — this is different to our 'Open Space Workshops' advertised for the third Thursday of every month. Open Space events are set up to support organisers to get down to the nitty gritty conversations around the practicalities of organising an activity.

These 'Collaborative Events' aim to generate a buzz, provide an entry point for those interested in getting involved, garner further support and create an opportunity to network with new partners.

Visit www.ignitechelmsford.org.uk/essex2020 for more information about the programme and the partners involved.

The theme for this event is 'Skills development and new pathways in STEAM’

We have negotiated half price hotdesking on event days with our friendly coworking venue The Transition. For just £10 for the entire day, you can enjoy the excellent facilities and surrounding with free wifi and be around like minded Essex 2020 project organisers in the lead upto and after the event.

Places are limited so please book event place in advance using eventbrite and if you wish to hotdesk, please contact The Transition on andy@the-transition.co. Please advise if you are no longer able to attend so we can make your place available to others.

How will the event run?
Six developing projects will be presenting a three minute pitch to share their idea and outline three “asks” that they’d like the audience’s feedback or support with, only one of which can relate to funding or financial support. They will then have five minutes to interact with the audience who will provide input around the three asks as well as more general feedback, ideas and offers of support.

Would you like to pitch your project?
If you have an idea you’d like to pitch, you must first have completed an Expression of Interest form for Essex 2020 and be included under the Chelmsford, Maldon, Brentwood & Basildon Hub. If you have already submitted an Expression of Interest form and attend Chelmsford, Maldon, Brentwood & Basildon Hub Meetings, then you can complete this brief form, which will be used to allocate slots and also to enable us to share information about the pitches after the event.

What happens after the event?
We hope you can join us but if you can’t a blog post will be shared shortly after the event summarising the 6 ideas, their asks and contact details so you can still find out what’s in developing and offer your support if you’d like.
