Essex Learning Outside the Classroom Conference 2017
Thu 21 September 2017, 09:00 – 15:30 BST
The Essex Learning Outside the Classroom Conference 2017 is being held at The Wilderness Foundation. This will be a day full of outdoor learning opportunties with key note speakers and a choice of workshops (lunch included).
The Wilderness Foundation is surrounded by 400 acres of open farm land, but it is the 40-acre set-side conservation and education site that provides the most opportunities to explore and learn. The living classroom includes a variety of habitats such as wild flower and grass meadows, mature mixed woodland, ancient hedgerows, beetle banks, a new Diamond Jubilee tree plantation of 12,000 young native trees, forest clearings, a freshwater stream and a pond. This rich habitat diversity is perfect for visitors to get a hands-on, interactive learning experience, leading them to encounter the many different species resident on the site. There is a wide range of flora species to a wealth of invertebrate, bird and mammal species, there is always something to discover at the Wilderness Foundation, and best of all, it is all wild.
