Launch of our Essex Sounds audio map website. Come along to hear more about the making of the website, try it out, and find out how you can contribute. Meet the man behind the roving fluffy microphone; hear from the archivist who started the whole project; and learn from the digitiser restoring the historic recordings. Plus a keynote by Martin Newell, local spoken word artist and Essex enthusiast.
The website has been developed as part of a Heritage Lottery Funded project at the Essex Sound and Video Archive, called You Are Hear: sound and a sense of place. How do the changing sounds of Essex affect the way we think about the county?
The event is free, but booking is required so we can cater accordingly. Please bring a Wi-Fi enabled device if you have one so you can play with the website.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Contact Sarah-Joy Maddeaux, Project Officer, through firstname.lastname@example.org or 033301 32467.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No - we'll take your word that you are who you say you are!
