About this event
Join us on September 20th for our yearly outreach event, where medical students and admissions staff from the University of Edinburgh will talk through the main points of the application journey and share top tips for success!
What we will cover:
- Advice from the director of Undergraduate Medicine Admissions at the University of Edinburgh
- The UCAS Questions - Structure, planning and tips for each section
- The UCATs - Format, study tips and advice for each section
- Interviews - The different types, and how to prepare for them
This morning of talks will offer you the opportunity to learn the basics of the medical school admission pathway, with plenty of opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
This will then be followed by a limited (45 spots) mock interview session in the afternoon, where you will get to opportunity to practice both MMI stations and Group interviews, with plenty of opportunity for feedback from current medical students. The interview practice will be complemented by an extra workshop on wider reading, covering the basics on the structure of the NHS and ethics.
We hope to help you become more acquainted with the application process, and welcome any S4-S5 students who are looking to apply to medical school in the future!
Emails with the Zoom link will be provided on the 19th of September. Certificates of attendance will also be available after the event.
Frequently asked questions
You're encouraged to keep notes of things you find important, so having a pen and paper or keeping a document open in another tab may be beneficial. The event is quite long, so keep water and snacks within arms reach!
There will be 5-minute breaks between the talks, and a large break for lunch between the morning and afternoon sessions.
We will be sharing a link to the slides after you complete the post-event feedback form.
Please email us at joinus.esss@gmail.com with the title of the event and your question!
