ESU 2017 International Public Speaking Competition Heats
Thu 11 May 2017, 09:00 – 18:00 BST
The ESU International Public Speaking Competition (IPSC) is the world’s largest competition of its kind. Bringing participants from over 50 countries together in a week of cultural exchange and competition, the IPSC is one of the flagship programmes of the ESU.
The competition heats are split across two sets of three prepared speech heats in the morning and two sets of three impromptu speech heats in the afternoon. One ticket covers both sets of heats and you are able to arrive for either part of the day with one booking. The Prepared speech heats are due to start at 9am, and finish at 12.30pm. The impromptu speech heats are due to start at 3pm and finish at 6pm.
Each participant will speak once in the morning on the topic 'To define is to limit', and once in the afternoon on a topic that they have seen just 15 minutes before performing. This is an incredible opportunity to see some of the most talented young speakers from across the world
Tea and coffee will be provided in the morning and afternoon breaks and a light lunch will be provided at around noon.
