Why attend this course?
The International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) is the de facto standard for the conduct of such evaluations. It is published by the Efficiency Valuation Organization and is designed to promote transparency, completeness, objectivity, and conservativeness.
AEE awardsthe CMVP® (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional) designation, in conjunction with EVO, to those who attend the training and subsequently pass the examination, and remain active in the field of measurement and verification.
This 3-day workshop includes both EVO's approved 'Fundamentals of Measurement and Verification' training and the CMVP® examination, and it will be delivered by an EVO-accredited instructor. We are so confident of the quality of training that we will pay your EVO examination retake fee for you if you do not pass first time.
Eligibility: each candidate for CMVP certification must pass the four-hour written exam as well as meet one of the following criteria (or equivalent outside America):
Have a four-year degree from an accredited university or college in science, engineering, architecture, business, law, finance, or related field, or be a registered professional engineer (P.E.), or registered architect (R.A.). In addition, the applicant must have at least three years of verified experience in energy or building or facility management or measurement and verification; OR,
Have a two-year technical degree, or four-year non-technical degree from an accredited college or university in a field not specified above with five years of verified experience in energy or building or facility management or measurement and verification; OR,
Have ten years or more verified experience in energy or building or facility management or measurement and verification; OR
the current status of Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) given by AEE
Applications are assessed by a local CMVP Board who will consider each trainee's qualifications for equivalence to the eligibility criteria. A trainee who passes the exam, but is deemed not to meet the above criteria, will be awarded the title CMVP-IT (In Training). If a candidate subsequently meets the criteria to become a CMVP within six years, he or she can apply to upgrade without further testing or fees.
