This one day workshop will introduce you to the technique of etching, a process used by artists such as Rembrandt, Goya, Hockney and Freud.

Bring along your own drawing to transform into an etching plate. We will be using a non-toxic etching method, working with a copper sulphate solution to make the plates and printing on the etching press.

Everyone will take away a small edition of prints.

Nigel Morris is the Print Coordinator at the Regional Print Centre in Wrexham where he teaches and experiments with different printing techniques from computer drawings to lino prints and etchings. In his own work he is interested in abstraction, symmetry and systems and his prints often play with visual perception.

Dewch â‘ch llun eich hun i’w drawsnewid yn blât ysgythru. Byddwn yn defnydddio dull ysythru diwenwyn gan weithio gyda hydoddiant sylffad copr i wneud y platiau ac argraffu ar y wasg ysgythru.

Bydd pawb yn mynd â rhifyn bach o brintiau i ffwrdd.

Nigel Morris yw Cydlynydd Print y Ganolfan Argraffu Ranbarthol yn Wrecsam lle mae’n dysgu ac yn arbrofi gyda thechnegau printio gwahanol, o ddarluniau cyfrifiadurol i brintiau leino ac ysgythriadau.
