Ethar Relief is competing in the annual al-noor dragon boat race 2022. Join our Ethar relief Dragon Boat team and enjoy competitive challenges for awesome fun, team building, and a whole lot of splashing.

By joining our team you will be supporting our amazing charity that helps thousands of forgotten Eritrean refugees who are suffering in the harshest conditions living in camps. Having NO access to things we take for granted on a daily basis.

In this exciting, fun and highly competitive charity race, we will have two teams. A men’s and women’s team. There will be 16 paddlers and one drummer per boat. The drummers job is to keep the troops motivated all the way to the finish line and intimidate the opponents with our mighty Ethar roar beats !

( We will also be needing 3 reserves for the Mens and Women's team each.)

How long is the race ?

The race course is 250 metres long and should take approximately a minute and a half to complete. Each team will race three times during the heats, with individual times recorded. Teams with the fastest qualifying times will go head to head in the final. Remember this is not a marathon but a sprint ;)

Who can take part?

Anyone! Men and Women up for an exciting challenge all are invited to fire up their inner dragon!

What experience do I need?

No previous dragon boat racing experience required!

How do I join the crew?

Just click the link and register. Each participant is required to pay a £25 entrance fee. Once you accept the challenge you will then need to raise money through individual sponsorship with minimum £300.

What do I wear?

Wear comfortable (ideally waterproof ) clothing, you will also be given Team Shirts. All participants will most likely get wet, so we encourage everybody to bring a change of clothes and shoes just in case!

Can family attend ?

Yes the sound of cheerleaders would be welcomed as family and friends can watch with plenty to entertain them too. There's an on site Aqua Park, paddling boat hire, cafe , mini fairground and soft play centre.
