Event description

Description

This programme has been designed to support NHS Leaders, spanning all levels of the system, to work through ethical challenges presented within the workplace. Balancing these dilemmas against the backdrop of what can be a changeable and political system with the need to behave ethically, living consistently with our values, and enacting our values in the workplace can sometimes be tricky. Providing leaders with timely, relevant and impactful mentoring support during these difficult times can enable them to:

  • Create the environment for an open dialogue

  • Understand and work with the ethical dilemma

  • Explore and question their own values

  • Recognise and challenge groupthink and false logic

  • Make difficult choices

  • Have difficult conversations with other people

  • Raise their ethical awareness and ethical competence

We are looking to further develop a national cohort of 30 NHS Ethical Mentors who are either; existing NHS staff who are accredited mentors/coaches working formally through regional coaching & mentoring registers or NHS staff who regularly (on an informal basis) have experience of working with leaders within a coaching or mentoring capacity and can demonstrate a firm understanding of coaching/mentoring pedagogies.
