Event description
Our third session of our Ethics Conference will cover solicitor's duties to court/clients, and how to deal with uncomfortable situations.

About this Event

Following our polls on social media to gauge interest in our Ethics Conference, we are delighted to announce our virtual Ethics Conference 2021 sponsored by the Clark Foundation.

The Conference will be held over 3 one-hour sessions - Tuesday 19 January 2021, Tuesday 26 January 2021, and Thursday 4 February 2021.

This third one-hour session on Thursday 4 February will cover solicitor's duties to court, duties to clients (including vulnerable), and how to deal with a situation when a solicitor may be under pressure from colleagues or clients to do something that makes them feel uncomfortable.

Attendees from hear from three speakers:

1. Bill Macreath, Chairman of Levy & McRae Solicitors LLP, and founding Director of the Legal Defence Union.

2. Roddy Dunlop QC, Axiom Advocates, and Dean of the Faculty of Advocates.

3. Lynsey Walker, Partner in Dispute Resolution at Addleshaw Goddard, and Board Member of the Law Society of Scotland.

We hope the training will be as practical and helpful as possible, as we are aware that our members feel they are lacking in knowledge, and worried about complying with various aspects of ethics.

The Clark Foundation kindly sponsors the Ethics Conference 2021. Further information about the Foundation be found here -

Login details will be sent to attendees by 11am.
