We’ll be joined by Alastair Droop to discuss how artificial intelligence is being used in cancer and health care, and the ethics of AI.

About this event

In this session we'll be looking at one of the 'big questions' in the future of healthcare: the use of machine learning in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Alastair will highlight how machines learn, how this can be applied to cancer diagnosis and treatment, and some of the ethical concerns that arise.

About Genomics Lite: Cancer Research Series

Genomics Lite is a programme of live webinars to inspire and engage upper secondary school students, teachers and other educational groups.

Each series will explore a different field in biology, and how genomics research contributes to understanding in the field. In this Cancer series, we’ll be exploring how genomics can aid our understanding and treatment of cancer. Each session will explore a different aspect of Cancer, and provide students and teachers the opportunity to hear about cutting edge research and ask questions to scientists working in the field.
