Manchester International Law Centre is proud to welcome Professor Matthew Happold, who will deliver a public lecture on the subject: EU Economic Sanctions from the Public International Law Perspective.
Matthew Happold is Professor of Public International Law at the University of Luxembourg. Professor Happold has published widely across the field of public international law, including the law of armed conflict and international human rights law and has particular interests in international investment law, the settlement of international disputes, and economic sanctions. He is co-author, with Thomas Roe QC, of The Settlement of Investment Disputes under the Energy Charter Treaty (Cambridge University Press: 1st edition 2011, 2nd edition in preparation) and co-editor, with Paul Eden, of Economic Sanctions in International Law (Hart Publishing: forthcoming 2016). Other publications include International Law in a Multipolar World (editor) (Routledge: 2012), Child Soldiers in International Law (MUP: 2005) and Constitutional Human Rights in the Commonwealth (co-editor with Michael Anderson) (BIICL: 2003).
The talk will be approximately 45 minutes, followed by a Q&A and a drinks reception.
