We are pleased to invite you to a one day Master Class focussed on participation in Horizon 2020, the EU's €80bn flagship research and innovation fund.

The event is suitable for all companies and academics who have a strategic intent to access H2020 funds and can evidence this through an idea for a potential project / appropriate funding call. The event is applicable to all sectors and the topics covered provide a comprehensive view of the main areas that any organisation planning to participate in Horizon 2020 should be aware of:

o Making the right strategic decision about partnering
o Taking the right approach to minimise the cost of participation
o Working with the European Commission on your proposal
o Available support
o Building a team
o Work integration
o Matching roles to partners
o Consortium organisation
o Partner search methods
o Building a proposal
o Proposal section by section view

This event will offer an opportunity for an in-depth examination of the task of putting together a winning proposal under Horizon 2020, but also discuss the reasons WHY you should participate and WHAT you are getting into, providing you with all the information you require to make strategic decisions about participation.

Developing a proposal for the European Commission has lots of parallels with proposals to other funding organisations and even private investors. If your organisation is planning to seek funding to support its R&D then you will find this day of great value.

The Master Class is FREE and will be delivered by Eddie Townsend, a practitioner with many years of experience, on behalf of the Technology Strategy Board. Eddie has based the material for the Master Class on his experience of successful proposal submissions and management of FP6 and FP7 projects, updated for Horizon 2020. Eddie has also published articles on the subject of collaboration and product innovation.

We are also offering two Master Classes in Cardiff, tailored for Businesses (18th September) or Academics (19th September).

Refreshments and lunch will be provided at this event.

Testimonials from previous events:
"...I found the session was very informative and it gives me a clear idea as regards to what is involved and what you have to do at each stage of the submission of a proposal. I think you have thought through very carefully how to deliver your material to the class…"

"…I found the content extremely useful and you were able to break down what had initially come across to me as a black box of EU funding into its very visible ad reachable moving parts."
