EU IN BRUM bus to Unite For Europe march against UK exit #Remain
Sat 25 March 2017, 07:00 – 20:30 GMT
EU IN BRUM is running buses from Birmingham (and back!) to the major Unite For Europe march against UK exit in London, on Saturday 25th March.
Show the world
This national march is already massive, but we want to make it as big as possible to send a very powerful statement to Theresa May, the UK government and politicians - and the world! The EU and the world will be watching.
Theresa May also states that 65m people are supporting not just ruinous exit, but her extreme version of it. We have to demonstrate that this is certainly not the case.
Experience to remember
The march will be vibrant and colourful and really a fun day out and experience to remember for all ages/all the family. Be on the right side of history and show your opposition to the destructive madness of exit, protect our rights, our public services including the NHS, our pockets, our future and place in the world, as well as our strong bonds and friendship with our fellow Europeans and the world.
PLEASE SHARE THIS WIDELY!
Tickets are as cheap as possible - cheaper than almost any return train OR bus you'll find to London AND you'll be transported to and from the march destination, and travel with a group of friendly, animated, like-minded friends. Which proud, democratic European, not to mention Brummie, could resist?
Tickets will be available till Thursday 23rd March or until we have filled the buses if demand is high, so please hurry to avoid disappointment.
As we are a grassroots organization and running buses is not cheap, we do welcome any additional support you can give us to help fund this or our wider campaign. There are therefore tickets which include a donation in the cost and we truly appreciate it if you choose this option.
The prices are: Standard, £15.50; Standard + Donation, £19.50; Standard + Gold Star Donation £25.75 (which comes with a free, large flag and EU-themed chocolate to munch en route). These charges include a fee applied by Eventbrite; we're sorry that this puts a 'brexit' bump on the cost for our supporters (and ourselves!), but using Eventbrite's service is the only way we could realistically coordinate this. Thank you.
Sponsor a passenger
We also have a scheme where you can buy a ticket for someone else who could not afford it themselves or otherwise go. Thank you very much to anyone who does this. If you are in this position and would like to benefit from a sponsored ticket, please email email@example.com.
2 Pick Ups
- CITY CENTRE 7am, Hill St, Megabus stop (busstop no: HS1), B2 4BU
- KING'S HEATH 7:30am, Opposite Goose pub, Alcester Rd/KH high street, B14 7JZ
PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE THERE AT THE TIMES ABOVE AS WE WILL HAVE TO LEAVE PROMPTLY - with or without you - to arrive in London in good time for the march.
We will leave London at 5:30pm, so expect to arrive back in Bham 8:30-9pm, with the same drop offs: King's Heath and City Centre.
We really hope you can come and support - and you'll be warmly welcomed on the bus and by the crowds in London, travelling from every corner of UK and Europe.

This is the description of the march from organizers Unite For Europe's website
We want to remain in the European Union!
We value the peace, friendships, relationships, rights, business & academic collaborations, economic prosperity and outward-looking attitude that European Union membership delivers; it's best for the UK.
What can the march achieve?
UK exit can be stopped.
We can embolden our elected representatives and peers. The vast majority of our MPs and peers support our membership of the European Union, but are being railroaded into a catastrophe by reckless and incompetent leadership. There is a long, unpredictable, road ahead that Parliament will have some (hopefully much!) control over; they need to know just how many votes there are in adopting a pro-EU position. With our vocal support, they can stop UK exit.
We can change minds. As the damage of an impending UK exit reveals itself over the coming months, we can help sway public opinion with our demonstration of support for the European Union and all its benefits. We can send a message of goodwill to our European friends and neighbours.
Why 25th March 2017?
- Unite for Europe is timed to coincide with the UK Government’s stated intention to trigger Article 50 by the end of March 2017.
- 25th March 2017 is the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome, which established the European Economic Community.
Everybody who wants to must be able to attend this march. March 25th allows expats and those in more far-flung regions of the UK time to arrange their transport to London. Additionally, if Unite for Europe were held sooner, the wintery weather of January and February would pose a risk to the success of the march.
What's the route?
We will be marching to Parliament. The exact route will be finalised when we have an indication of the number of marchers attending. The march will begin at Park Lane (London, W1K 7TN), or Pall Mall (London, SW1Y) if you have a mobility restriction (see Accessibility). Look out for updates here, on the Unite for Europe Facebook and Twitter accounts, and in the national press.
What should I bring?
- Colourful flags or banners. Unite for Europe is about the future of the entire United Kingdom - in Europe, so we would love you to bring items that represent your local identity and national flags to wave alongside your European flags or banners.
- Layers of clothing, including waterproofs. Wear blue and yellow if you can!
- Snacks and (non-alcoholic) drinks.
Tell your friends and share this widely. We look forward to seeing you on Sat 25th March! Many thanks, EU IN BRUM
