About Food Forum 2019

The annual EuroFIR Food Forum is the flagship event for those interested in food composition and other nutritional data, standards and tools, and their wider application in food, nutrition and health research. The Food Forum combines association activties, project meetings and a public Symposium. It is a great opportunity to meet and network with EuroFIR members and other international researchers, dietitians, nutritionists, SMEs, health and food public authorities, and exchange ideas on food and research in Europe and worldwide.

Tuesday 10th April 2019 (afternoon)

12.00 – 13.00: Registration and welcome lunch

13.15 – 14.30: Plenary talks 

 

  • The European Food Information Council (EUFIC) – mission and current activities in nutrition and health – Raymond Gemen, EUFIC (Brussels, BE) 
  • Developments for the Food Nutrition and Health Research Infrastructure in Europe – opportunities for EuroFIR – Prof. Barbara Korousic Seljak, Josef Stefan Institute (Ljubljana, SI)
  • Food and Drink reformulation and innovation and quantifying on consumers in Ireland – Sandrine Pigat, Crème global (Dublin, IE)
  • Analysis of nutrients and contaminants – the Norwegian seafood database – Lisbeth Dahl & Maria Wik Markhus, Institute of Marine Research (Bergen, NO).

EuroFIR Food Forum will take place at Penta Hotel Brussels City Centre (38 Chaussée de Charleroi, 1060, Brussels, BE).

 

Accommodation

EuroFIR secured a special rate with the Penta Hotel Brussels City Centre (chaussée de Charleroi, 38, 1060 Brussels, BE) for 133.24 per night, breakfast included. 

Participants may also book a room at the Motel One Hotel, located close to the Royal Palace (Rue Royale 120, 1000 Bruxelles) at 109.24 euros per night (breakfast included).
