This lecture provides a comparative overview of the rise of populism in Europe before focusing its attention on Germany. The lecture argues that the most successful right-wing populist movements are in fact nativist movements. The session elaborates on the concept of nativism, considers wht these parties are performing very well and considers what the rise of nativist sentiment means for the process of European Integration.
