The Oxford Club of Constructing Excellence is pleased to invite you Harwell Campus for the eighth event of our 2016 calendar.
'Harwell is a place which matters globally. It's a place where the impact of what has been discovered could matter for the rest of the world'
Magali Vaissiere, Head of the European Space Agency's ECSAT
The construction of the new European Centre for Space Applications and Telecommunications (ECSAT) at the European Space Agency (ESA) facilities on the Harwell Campus will further promote (for exclusively peaceful purposes), cooperation among European States in space research and technology and their space applications, with a view to their being used for scientific purposes and for operational space applications systems.
The new facility, constructed by Bouygues UK from its regional office at Abingdon, will support ESA's activities related to telecommunications, integrated applications, climate change, technology and science.
Speakers from the European Space Agency and the Bouygues Group will provide an insight into the design, construction and benefits of the new facility. This unique opportunity to visit ESA will be of particular interest to Construction Professionals with particular interests in soft landings approach and energy performance models.
For those travelling to the venue by car, ample free parking is available on site at ESA. Please note that in accordance with site security regulations, guests will be required to present I.D. Oxford Club of Constructing Excellence
The Oxford Club of Constructing Excellence was established in 2000 and our members include clients in the local area, together with designers, consultants, contractors, academics, specialists and suppliers. Our aim is to enable joined up thinking between members of the construction industry and to establish Oxford as a centre of excellence in construction. We will be running events throughout the year to share industry knowledge and best practice and provide networking opportunities. We welcome local companies involvement, and support from local authorities, business and academia.
