European Days of Conservation-Restoration – Behind the Scenes tour

To mark European Days of Conservation-Restoration 2025, take a behind-the-scenes tour at PRONI to see how we store, care for and make available our heritage.

To mark European Days of Conservation-Restoration 2025, join us for a behind-the-scenes look at PRONI and our services.

Visitors will be brought on a guided tour of the building. First, we will visit the public Search Room and Reading Room to discover how our visitors begin their research into family and local history.

After this, the group will visit one of our purpose-built archival stores that hold over 3 million records relating to the history of Northern Ireland. They will then be treated to a visit to the Conservation Lab, to observe how damaged documents are repaired and treated to ensure that they will be more stable in the future.
