Description

EUROPEAN GALA CONCERT

The celebration day will have a number of elements including displays of Eastern and Central European culture, fashion, demonstrations of various cultural arts from various groups, and Eastern European ethnic food.

Our mission of the day is to bring communities together, promote community cohesion and to remove the barriers people faced when moving into different countries.

Join us for this exciting event as we will have some famous celebrities from Eastern Europe, as well as guests from Belorussia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Slovakia, who are residents of the UK performing for us.

Truly a one of a kind occasion in a unique environment as St Germain's Church has never in its 101 years welcomed such an event.

We will enjoy the exquisite performances and take part in an exhilarating dance workshop in the spacious church with excellent acoustics.

Artists at the Concert:

We have invited some exciting well-known, as well as amateur singers and dancers from different European countries to perform for guests at the concert.

Some of the invited performers include:

Maria Veretenina

Maria is an Estonian born soprano and opera singer who has performed in many of Europe’s finest music venues. She has performed in venues such as the Grand Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic; Chamber Opera in Vienna; Royal College of Music; St. John’s Smith Square in London and the Estonian Concert Hall in Tallinn.

Maria is also a frequent guest on Estonian TV and radio programmes.

Choir Nuovo Coro of the Circolo Fincantieri Wärtsilä (Trieste, Italy)

The Circolo Fincantieri- Wärtsilä is an after-work club, founded in 1938 by two Italian companies – Fincantieri Ltd and Wärtsilä ltd. Since its re-opening in 2012, The Nuovo Coro has performed at festivals in several countries, including Italy and Spain.

At this concert, the choir will be performing in partnership with Maria Veretenina.

Folktone Banda

This is a famous traditional Hungarian band that showcases the wealth of Hungarian cultural music with its blend of unusual folk music and traditional craftsmanship.

Their wide range of repertoire, versatile activities, hunger for musical challenge and adventure allows them to perform all around the UK and abroad as well.

They have performed in England, Wales, Scotland, Hungary, Japan, Canada and Germany. Future engagements are planned in Romania, Switzerland.

Ruspiks

This is a performing group made up of Russian speaking migrants from Belorussia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine. The group was put together by EMCONET, as part of its cultural programme and is made up of volunteers.

Since its inception last year, Ruspiks performed at the Sandwell Streets Festival, where it received praise and acknowledgement for its humour and joyful performance of ethnic and folk songs.

This day will not only be about music and singing and dancing but also a great family and community day too.

We will enjoy food from all around Europe and see some amazing ethnic outfits.
