European Jazz Conference Lisbon 2018
Event Information
Description
The 5th European Jazz Conference will take place between 13 and 16 September 2018 at the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon, Portugal.
The theme of the European Jazz Conference 2018 (13-16 Sept in Lisbon) will be "ON THE EDGE", an invitation to discuss the concepts of edges, peripheries and edginess (both figuratively and literally). The European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 will be the perfect occasion to talk about the idea that Europe (generally) is becoming more homogenous as technology links us and casts us, stripping away some cultural identity in the process, but shaping new identities as outputs, juxtaposed with the fact that many peripheral countries and cities are not yet as homogenised as "the middle" and consequently have something interesting to say, in music and in culture.
The registration fee includes access to the whole conference programme, showcase festival, Opening Gala Concert, cultural tours on Sunday 16 September and lunch/dinners during the days of the conference.
Registration fee: 150€
