Europeana

Europeana (www.europeana.eu) is a single access point to the digitised European cultural and scientific heritage. The online portal was launched by the President of the European Commission in November 2008 and currently provides access to more than 50 million cultural heritage objects from around 3500 libraries, museums, archives, galleries and audiovisual collections all over Europe. We believe in making cultural heritage openly accessible in a digital way, to promote the exchange of ideas and information. This helps us all to understand our cultural diversity better and contributes to a thriving knowledge economy.
