In this workshop, organised by the University of Southampton and held at the Royal Society in London, we will discuss how artificial intelligence and smart apps can help EV drivers on long journeys.

The event will bring together stakeholders from government, industry and academia to discuss this important topic, as well as future opportunities for research and policy. The main part of the workshop will run from 10:00-12:30 and will be followed by an optional lunch and networking at the same venue.

We are honoured to have a number of guest speakers, including:

Andy Cruden - Professor of Energy Technology, University of Southampton
Andrew Larkham - Head of Local EV Infrastructure, Office for Zero Emission Vehicles
Bo Lincoln - Chief Executive Officer, Iternio / A Better Route Planner
Derek McAuley - Professor of Digital Economy, University of Nottingham

We will also share the results of a large-scale survey of current EV drivers in the UK. Through 200 in-person interviews and over 1,000 online survey responses, this survey explores drivers’ preferences for choosing charging stations and the key challenges they currently face.
