    About this event

Love it or hate it, when done right, evaluation is a powerful and essential tool. Our online workshop will help you to value what really matters, learn from what worked and didn’t work in others’ campaigns, and adapt your approach accordingly.

We all want our theory of change to work but, to do so, it must be a living, iterative tool that reflects the realities of campaigning. If something is not working, we need the knowledge and evidence to first know that and then to understand why – all in a safe context and environment.

This workshop will explore different evaluation techniques and methods, and how to incorporate Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) into your campaign planning and delivery.

    Participants will:

    • Understand evaluation techniques and methods

    • Learn how to incorporate MEL into campaign planning and delivery

    • Learn about reporting and responding techniques

This workshop will be led by the team at m2, established in 2016 by Miranda Lewis and Matthew Davis who bring a mix of expertise and experience in evaluation, training, coaching and strategic communications. Current clients include, IWM; Gingerbread; Reprieve; King’s Fund and the Wellcome Trust.

Miranda Lewis – Prior to taking on a consultancy role, Miranda was Associate Director and Head of Qualitative Research at the IPPR think tank. Prior to this, Miranda worked in the Advocacy team at VSO for several years. Miranda is a qualified personal and performance coach and DiSC practitioner. She was formerly Chair of Richmond CVS and is now a Trustee for ADHD Together.

Matthew Davis – Before becoming a consultant, Matthew previously worked at WWF where he held various senior positions: Head of Press & Campaigns; Director of both the Marine and Climate Change Campaigns; and Communications Director for WWF-International’s Global Species Programme. Matthew was a guest lecturer on environmental communications at Birkbeck University for three years and is also a published songwriter (EMI).

*Those taking this course through the campaign carousel will be offered a 2-hour workshop the following day to set goals, targets and learning points for your campaign.
