About this event

The team at Chol believe that evaluation is worth geeking out about and believe that (as with most things) we can all benefit by sharing and connecting with other like minded people in new ways.

This is why we are launching the Evaluation Geek Club - a brand new online community for the arts, cultural, and education sectors to come together and de-mystify evaluation methods and tools, share generously, and learn together.

What is Geek Club?

An online club and resource for artists and educators who want to approach evaluation with purpose, creativity and care.

The initial proposal includes a:

- bi-monthly online meet up to share, discuss and trouble shoot all things evaluation

- padlet to share resources, tools, opportunities, and events, and evaluation reports and materials

- the option to join a WhatsApp group for quick requests and sharing of opportunities

Who is it for?

Anyone interested in evaluation and learning in the arts and education world - you don’t need to be an experienced evaluator. We hope this will grow into a lively community of practice including people with a whole range of experiences and skills. The club will be open, responsive, very friendly and very down to earth.

Why evaluation?

Evaluation is an integral part of community arts and arts education. It is how we understand the processes and impacts of our practice in a meaningful way; building and learning with our communities and peers. As a sector we are now experiencing and trialling new approaches, methodologies and tools that shift the focus from proving to improving’, from extracting to enhancing, from meaningless data gathering to purposeful evidencing.

We hope that the Geek Club will be a friendly space where we can ask questions, learn about new approaches, read and engage with each other’s evaluation and ultimately improve together.

The Invitation

Join an initial online meeting where Vicky from Chol Theatre will start the ball rolling by sharing one of Chol’s current reflective practice approaches used with teachers and artists in schools. There will be time to talk, question and shape the Geek Club going forwards.
