About this event

BRT Plus - "When health and justice intersect - insights from local and national research"

Join us for this enlightening BRT PLUS session with Dr Sue Wilbraham to discover a community-led social initiative in Barrow that's helping people stay connected and involved, and hear about how it is evaluated.

The aims of this session are to share findings from a recent evaluation of a loneliness intervention in Barrow. The Furness for you partnership included 10 organisations in Barrow; together they were awarded funding from the Know Your Neighbourhood fund to reduce loneliness and social isolation. The evaluation sought to understand how beneficiaries experienced Furness for you, what the barriers to engagement were, and how the projects had impacted them. In this session we will explore the findings from the evaluation and discuss how future projects could learn from the work; communicating opportunities, supporting participation, understanding the needs of beneficiaries, measuring impact, and increasing social connectedness.

Sue is a Chartered Psychologist (BPS) and Senior Lecturer in Applied Psychology at the University of Cumbria.
