Evaluation of Digital and Data-driven Solutions in Healthcare - Why is this important?

It’s becoming increasingly recognised that Digital Health & Care needs to be held to the same standards as pharmaceuticals and devices. Last year the Lancet published an editorial titled “Is digital medicine different?”, which concluded:

“Continuing to argue for digital exceptionalism and failing to robustly evaluate digital health interventions presents the greatest risk for patients and health systems.”

Since then, NICE have published an Evidence Standards Framework for Digital Health Technologies, the UK government published an Initial code of conduct for data-driven health and care technology, and closer to home the Scottish Government are working on their Quality Assurance Framework for Mobile Apps for Health and Care Professionals.

In recognition of the importance of this topic, OHT Scotland is excited to announce an evening of talks from some of Scotland’s leading experts on this topic, as well as our trademark inclusive networking.
