British historian Stephen Bourne celebrates the life and career of the Black British singer Evelyn Dove, the subject of his new book. In the booming cabaret age of the 20s and 30s Evelyn thrilled audiences around the world. Her mesmerising movie star looks captivated those in her presence. During the Second World War she kept the home fires burning with her appearances on BBC Radio.
Bourne will be signing copies of the newly released book which will be available for attendees.
