Evelyn Underhill Day

Led by Valerie Thompson. Valerie will use her experience of Underhill's style of writing to present a variety of Evelyn's sayings and prayers. Participants will be able to choose one or two passages to meditate with in the peaceful atmosphere of Pleshey house and garden. There will be opportunities to discuss the sayings and prayers, participants will be free to join this or have their own private space.

Valerie Thompson is a retired teacher, holds a MA Christian Spirituality from Sarum College and studied Evelyn Underhill for her dissertation. She has experience as a facilitator on the Essex Course in Spiritual Direction(previously known as the Pleshey Course) and the Chelmsford Modular Course in Spiritual Companionship. She is a spiritual director and also a supervisor for spiritual directors in both Chelmsford Diocese and the London Centre for Spiritual Direction.
