Evening guided bike ride to Cornwood
Wed 19 April 2017, 18:30 – 20:30 BST
Join us on a guided evening bike ride led by Sustrans volunteer guides to discover some of Devon’s rural roads.
Starting in Ivybridge, we follow scenic lanes along the Dartmoor Way to Cornwood where we stop for refreshments. We carry on to Smithaleigh along lanes overlooked by the National Park.
We'll discover secret river valleys, ancient woodlands and cycle through little villages. The hedgerows will be coming alive with wild flowers too which makes for a spectacular view.
The route is a circular ride of 14 miles mainly on quiet lanes and dedicated paths.
We'll be following National Cycle Network Routes 2 and 272 and other quiet roads to enjoy everything this beautiful countryside has to offer. This ride is of moderate difficulty.
Rides are open to anyone but you need to be reasonably fit and be prepared for changeable weather.
Start and finish will be at the Watermark Centre, Leonards Road, Ivybridge, PL21 0SZ. Meet for 6.30pm start. The ride will take 2 hours and includes a coffee stop.
Please book at least 24 hours before the event. The recommended minimum age for 30 mile route is 12 years.
E-bikes are welcome and don't forget to bring your camera for some great photo opportunities!
This is a local community event organised jointly with PL21 Transition Town Initiative.
