These monthly explorations, guided by local naturalists Wild Intrigue, are the perfect opportuntiy to explore Gateshead's natural edges on an evening. From the wintry canopy of Gateshead Riverside Park to the tidal River Tyne - each month brings beautiful scenery and wildlife highlights to enjoy throughout this caual stroll.
Come along to discover the intersections where natural and urban environments meet, learn how this influences the natural rhythms of wildlife, and join like-minded people as we explore under the landscape as it becomes cloaked in darkness.
These circular walks will begin and end by the Railway Quarter. We will meet at 7.00pm in the open area opposite Kenilworth House on High Level Road. The exact meeting point can be found on What3Words at: https://what3words.com/unable.dreams.novel
Additional Information:
• Most suited for adults and ages 12+ (under 18s must be acompanied by an adult ticket-holder)
• These walks will go ahead in rain or shine, so please dress accordingly!
• In the event of severe weather, the walk may be rescheduled. You will be notified in advance, via email, if this occurs.
• Please wear comfortable walking shoes + plenty of warm layers
• You might like to bring a camera or smartphone to capture the scenery
• If you need to warm up, why not pop into one of the pubs, bars or eateries in the Railway Quarter afterwards too?
