Presentation outlines:

Reserve Based Lending: How Banks use Reserves & Resources report in Debt based project Finance

ü  Outlines types of financing structures utilised in O&G

ü  Discuss mechanics of most prevalent form of senior debt structure utilised    

ü  Illustrate process banks undertake to understand risk and derive appropriate technical assumptions that underpin typical banking case

Big Data: Making Sense of Information and Analytics in Oil and Gas

ü  Present the range of technologies that take large amount of data including monitoring systems, ERP/CRM,production records and make use of information generated

ü  By analysing the data, answer questions like

  • How can I predict if this supplier can meet the agreed lead time?
  • Can we predict when we are likely to see increases in production defects?
  • What are the bottlenecks on the production line and how can we predict how much impact they have?
  • How can we use sales and design activity data to predict future production requirements?


Neil Fairnie is a Petroleum Engineer with 30 years international oil field experience, currently Technical Director for Oil & Gas at Standard Bank. Commenced career with Conoco before moving into consultancy specialising in well operations on a wide range of field appraisal and development projects across the globe.  Prior to joining Standard Bank was Chief Petroleum Engineer for Premier Oil responsible for management of the reserves process and functionally leading the petroleum engineering activities on the company’s producing assets and field development projects.

Steve Rossiter is a Managing Director at AgileTek. Steve has an MEng in Aerospace from the University of Sheffield and is responsible for the day-to-day running of AgileTek. He also leads the company’s software development projects including development of cloud-computing cluster and analysis automation system

SPE YP London Committee

The SPE YP London Committee provides members with a range of events, trips and social activities. The focus of the group is on London-based E&P professionals under 35 years of age. The group’s intention is to create technical, networking and social events for young members of the London oil and gas community. This group should allow for better communication of what we're doing for the young professionals in our industry in the London and SE area of England and allow ideas to be exchanged in an easier way.
