Ever wondered what archaeologists do? Ever wanted to make your own historical discovery? Now’s your chance!
The first castle at Brodie was built around 1566 and still stands today as the south-west tower of the current castle. This early tower would have been within an enclosure and surrounded by smaller buildings where the daily work of the estate would have taken place. You might not be able to see this today, but what might survive below ground?
In order to try and understand more about what Brodie Castle estate looked like 500 years ago and how people lived and worked, the National Trust for Scotland will be carrying out Archaeological Excavations to uncover this earlier medieval castle landscape.
