EventScotland is pleased to be working with the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Police Scotland to offer event organisers a free half-day awareness/update session on cyber security, drone use and recovery of Police costs.

A representative from the NCSC will deliver a presentation on ‘Cyber Risk Management for Major Events’, with practical advice for non-technical event managers on how to integrate cyber security into event planning and delivery, making discussions about cyber security more meaningful and beneficial. Lead Officers from Police Scotland will provide an update on the use of drones at events, including legislation, appropriate/inappropriate use and air space restrictions, they will also update on the current approach to recovery of Police costs for deployment at events.

Format for the afternoon:

1230 – 1300 ARRIVAL & informal buffet lunch

1300 – 1415 Cyber Security for Events: A representative of the NCSC, Sport, Entertainment & Media team.

1415 – 1430 REFRESHMENT BREAK

1430 – 1515 Drone Use at Events: Sgt Graeme Rankin, Police Scotland Civil Aviation Authority Liaison Officer.

1515 – 1600 Police Cost Recovery: Superintendent James Royan, Police Scotland Emergency, Events and Resilience Planning.
