Overview

Every community deserves a meaningful relationship with nature – but too often, the same voices are heard, and the same people are left out.

This online panel discussion, “Every Community Needs Nature – Connecting Beyond the Usual Voices”, explores how to reach, include and work alongside people who are rarely invited into environmental conversations.

About the event

Join a live, interactive webinar bringing together people with rich lived experience of widening participation in social and environmental projects. They will share practical examples of how they have engaged people across different backgrounds, abilities and communities, and what has helped trust, relevance and long‑term involvement grow.

Who it’s for

This session is designed for people working on community, health, climate, nature and place‑based projects who want to connect with a broader mix of residents, partners and organisations. It will be especially useful for those involved in or supporting the Nature Secure and Nature Smart projects, and anyone keen to build more inclusive, community‑led approaches.

What you’ll gain

  • Insight into what “connecting beyond the usual voices” looks like in practice
  • Concrete examples of what works in engaging broad communities with environmental issues
  • Space to share your own experiences, ideas and questions, and to build new contacts and collaborations

Come ready to listen, reflect and contribute – and leave with inspiration, contacts and next steps for ensuring every community can shape a greener, fairer future.
