What will this course cover?

A poem is an offering. In this course, you will be introduced to a language of generosity for modern poetry. Instead of talking prescriptively about a poem’s quality (“good” or “bad”), you will take an expansive and holistic approach to engaging with poetry and crafting your own.

What will I get out of this course?

The aim is to help you discover how poems can deepen a ‘vocabulary of grace’ and bring more awareness to your life and writing while practising having the self confidence to express yourself. It is ideal for those who love words and its relationship with meaning and who want to benefit from a writing community to share ideas, poems and practice with others.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills or experience?

This is an entry level course - you do not need any skills or experience, aside from an interest in writing and reading poetry.

What do I need to bring with me?

No equipment is needed, but you may wish to bring a pen and notepad to write down your thoughts.
