We are excited to present the third in our webinar series designed to build confidence in skills surrounding the Mental Capacity Act (2005). This 3-hour session will look specifically at Mental Capacity Assessments in our everyday practice.
The webinar will look at:
• When to assess
• How to prepare
• How to assess capacity
• What questions to ask
• How to document assessments
• Overview of Best Interest Decisions
• Overview of LPA in context of Best Interest
The session will include a pre- and post- session questionnaires that will feed into the discussion. There will also be a break-out session to discuss examples provided followed by an open question-and-answer segment before closing.
This 3-hour webinar will include a 15 minute break.

About the presenter
Nicky Ryder is a qualified Occupational Therapist, Mental Capacity Assessor, and Advocate. She has many years' experience working in the field of Mental Capacity and advocacy across a range of settings including hospital placements, care homes and supported living. She is co-director of Mental Capacity Ltd.
