The Everyone’s Children Training programme is offered to third sector organisations operating in Glasgow. These sessions will provide a policy context linked to the Getting It Right For Every Child programme as well as practical examples and a chance to share views and experiences with colleagues.
Children’s rights are firmly embedded in the new Children and Young People 9 Scotland) Act 2014. This session is designed to help organisation’s consider the full meaning of this and how it can make a positive impact on outcomes for young people and the services which support them. Speakers include UNICEF UK who will describe the wider context for the development of Child Rights and their work to support Glasgow in its work to become a Child Friendly City. The session will also look at how children’s rights are linked to other initiatives such as GIRFEC and will hear from practitioners delivering work on the ground which is making these rights a reality locally.
Speakers include Marguerite Hunter Blair from Play Scotland on the importance of Play and links to the National Play Strategy and GIRFEC ; Christine Kerr from Glasgow Life on Glasgow’s Play Strategy Refresh; and Michaela Munro on the work PEEK undertakes in Glasgow. There will be opportunities for sharing practice and feeding into discussions on the way forward.
These sessions are reserved for Third Sector organisations working with children, young people and families in Glasgow, with a maximum of two members from each organisation.
Please note these sessions can be booked separately. A free lunch will be available for those attending both sessions
