Event description
Our popular course is now online. Explore our interdependence with our global neighbours and the planet.

About this event

CAFOD is offering free online CPD for teachers in state-funded schools in England and Wales, as part of the Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme, supported by the British Council.

This course is suitable for KS2 and KS3 teachers.

“Everything is connected”: Enrich school life through global learning, focuses on:

  • Responding to the values and challenge of Laudato Si’ by integrating global justice learning throughout your school.
  • Resources, strategies and activities that explore our relationship with our global neighbours in an exciting and engaging way.

This course will enable participants to explore and embed global learning across the school, with a particular focus on interdependence from a values-based perspective, as inspired by the inclusive Catholic perspective of stewardship and “care for our common home”. We will provide resources, strategies and activities that explore global learning (and in particular at least two SDGs) and the values of students, in a fun and engaging way.

As well as the training, we will provide ongoing support to help you implement the learning from the day into the life of your school. There is an expectation that you will try out some of the ideas and activities between sessions so you can share ideas and feedback on the tools and strategies you have implemented.

Saturday 8 May 2021

Saturday 15 May 2021

Each session is from 9.30am to 12.00pm. Please ensure you can attend both sessions. There will be work to complete and implement between each session.

There will also be an opportunity to share on Tuesday 8 June from 3.30pm - 4.30 pm (tbc).
