Over this course Dr Vleeming will present his research work and distil a 20 year career into a digestible weekend workshop that promises a new understanding and a set of new skills for practise.

 

This course will be especially related to better diagnostics and treatment of pelvic girdle patients. The course has both theoretical clinical content as well as hands on demonstrations on diagnostics and treatment. Dr Vleeming will show both the clinical research and his clinical work with patients.


Day 1

09.30      The function of the pelvis and the SIJ. An integrated and biomechanical model for understanding the function of the lumbopelvic spine

10.00     Form and force closure of the pelvis and the sacroiliac joint

10.45     Coffee break

11:00     Continue form and force closure

12.30     Lunch

13.30     The specific role of the SIJ ligaments and muscles for self-bracing the SIJ

14:45     Coffee break

15.00      A proven model for self-bracing the SIJ, based on Roentgen stereophotogrammetry analysis (RSA)

Speaker

 

Dr. Andry Vleeming is working in the Department of Anatomy of the University of New England and in the rehabilitation department of the Medical University Ghent Belgium. Currently he is working as a rehabilitation professor at the Ghent University and visiting professor in Anatomy at the University of New England and the Medical Charite University Berlin Germany. He is the Program Chairman Of the World Congress on Lumbopelvic Pain and one of the authors of the European Guidelines of Pelvic Girdle Pain (2008). Dr Vleeming and colleagues have studied stability and movement of the pelvis and spine for more than 20 years. This has led to many publications in Spine Journals concerning the function and diagnosis of the pelvis and spine.

Course organisers reserve the right to make alterations to fees, arrangements and dates for teaching and learning sessions, including the decision to run all or parts of the course in the light of demand. In the event that the course is cancelled or re-scheduled by the course organiser, a full refund of fees will be given, but the college takes no responsibility for travel or accommodation expenses incurred by the delegate. 

If for any reason you are unable to attend the seminar please be aware that fees will be refunded, less a £10 administration charge, for all cancellations received at least 30 days before the event. Cancellations received after the 30 day period but 7 days prior to the seminar date will receive a 50% refund less the £10 administration charge. No refunds can be given after this time.
