A one day workshop with mixed media artist Helen Hallows.
Join me for a day to discover how I design my landscapes. Using research and sketches from nature I create landscapes that tell a story. Learn about narrative and composition and how to develop your visual language so you can better express yourself.
We will start the day with a walk in the park that neighbours the Art Room. Collecting colours, shapes and ideas we will return to the studio to work on some mixed media backgrounds. Using paints, inks and collage we will experiment with abstract backgrounds for you to layer and add content. If you have previously attended my mark making workshop you can use some of the papers you have previously created.
Following on from this course, you may want to attend my 'Stitch techniques with Paper' one day workshop to further develop your work.
The day runs from 10 - 4. You will need to bring a skecthbook; all other materials are provided. Tea, coffee and cake are provided but you'll need to bring your own lunch.
