Evolving English Wines - A "Meet the Winemaker" Event
Event Information
About this event
Have you ever wondered what sparkling wine tastes like before it goes through secondary fermentation and years of maturation on the lees? How do winemakers know what the end result will taste like? What is the winemaker looking for when they taste the component wines before they finish blending? It's a whole world of winemaking that most of us never see.
The Wine Garden of England is a collaboration of leading Kent wine producers who work together to bring you events like these. Chapel Down has invited a winemaker from each estate to bring their favourite wine and its component wine to be tasted by you. At this exclusive event, the first of its kind, you'll learn how some of the most exciting wines from Kent evolve from grape through to glass in the delightful surroundings of the Chapel Down Wine Sanctuary.
Meet the winemakers from the following estates:
Balfour Winery
Biddenden Vineyards
Chapel Down
Gusbourne
Simpsons
Squerryes
Westwell
There are two sessions of two hours. The first is at 2.30pm - 4.30pm, the second at 6pm - 8pm. We'll serve some charcuterie and cheese halfway through.
Tickets are £45.00 per person to include a tutored tasting of 2 wines from each of the 7 winemakers, plus a glass of Chapel Down sparkling wine on arrival and small plate of cheese and charcuterie.
