Evolving the Data Professional in an AI-Driven World
Overview
The digital world is changing faster than ever, and every company needs to keep up. But how do you actually get results from AI and data? The truth is, AI success depends 100% on the people who manage the data that fuels it.
Join this webinar, to understand the shift in data roles. We’ll show you why the modern data professional is now key to driving real change and delivering business value. This session cuts through the noise to show business leaders, program managers, and L&D professionals how to:
- Identify the essential new skills modern data professionals need today.
- Stop poor data utilisation and speed up your decision cycles.
- Ensure data trust and governance is built into your AI strategy.
- Use apprenticeships to create a reliable, future-proof talent pipeline.
Speakers:
Bas Ward - Business Insights Analyst at Arriva
Bas operates on a simple principle: you don't need to love numbers to excel in data, you just need to enjoy solving problems. As a Business Insights Analyst at Arriva and a recent graduate of Kaplan's Level 4 data analysis apprenticeship, he put this principle into action by single-handedly replacing widespread manual Excel reporting with a fully automated Power BI environment he built from the ground up. Bas also has a special interest in sustainability and experimenting with Agentic AI to find new efficiencies.
Chiraag Swaly - Head of Data & Technology Curriculum at Kaplan
Chiraag has worked in Digital and IT Apprenticeships for over 13 years. With a background in technology, learning design and curriculum development, Chiraag has been involved with various large apprenticeship training providers to build technology-related apprenticeship programmes. He is the Head of Apprenticeship Design at Kaplan, building world-class programmes to support employers in bridging the gap for their IT and technology roles.
Michael Lafferty - Head of Data & Technology Apprenticeships at Kaplan
Michael has worked in Digital and IT Apprenticeships for over 15 years. With extensive experience in technical support, programme management and curriculum development, he has worked with large apprenticeship training providers to build technology-related apprenticeship programmes.
Matt Rawlins - Director of Growth: Data and Technology at Kaplan
Matt attended Kaplan for the first time at the age of 18 to study for his ACCA. Shortly after qualifying, he joined Kaplan in December 2006, following his passion for education. With a deep understanding of the practical challenges organisations face in talent development, Matt now serves as Director of Growth, where his role is centred on supporting businesses to develop the digital and data skills they need to thrive.
