Event description

Description

Join Helen Lederer, Orlando Ortega-Medina, Thomas Mogford and Ross Welford, for an evening of bookish bluffing, entertaining chit-chat and outright literary sneakiness as our panel battle it out to win Ex Libris LIVE!

Helen Lederer, described by Dawn French as ‘the 3rd funniest woman in the world’ is a comedian, a renowned actress (Absolutely Fabulous, French & Saunders) and a prolific comic writer, whose latest book, 'Losing It', was nominated for the P. G. Wodehouse Comedy Literary Award.

Orlando Ortega-Medina is an immigration lawyer, a Gay Rights campaigner and an award winning writer. 'Jerusalem Ablaze: Stories of Love and Other Obsessions' is his much awaited debut collection of short stories, which have been described as disturbing, atmospheric and enticingly mysterious

Thomas Mogford is a journalist, a translator and the author of the much acclaimed Spike Sanguinetti series of murder mystery thrillers set in and around Gibraltar. 'A Thousand Cuts', is the fifth book in the series, which has been described as ‘shrewd and atmospheric Mediterranean noir’ and ‘popular fiction at its best’.

Ross Welford was a magazine journalist and a television producer before becoming a full-time writer and children’s author. His first novel, the humorous and ingenious 'Time Travelling With A Hamster', became a bestseller, and his second 'What Not to Do If You Turn Invisible' seems highly likely to follow suit.

This event will be taking place in the Norrington Room basement.
